You want to add Ancestris repository and automate updates : Just follow this tutorial.
We would like your feedback to help us improve this method, and we are interested in what you think about this initiative to make a special package for Ubuntu/Debian users. Send me an email, so I will know that it is useful for someone; if I need to improve things, give me your own experiences, etc .....

The repository is hosted by the "team" Ancestris on the Ubuntu Launchpad.

Notes

  1. Location of Ancestris users
Ancestris users are a real community. It is important to help each other. When you use Ancestris, you use the result of the work of many people around the world (the persons who develop, but also the persons who write documentation, who translate the program and its docs). Several tools are available for you for that, take time to visit them (help files, mailing list, IRC, etc). However, a map locating us, indicating under which operating system we are, is helpful. It allows you to put names on people who talk on the list, to see that you are not alone, to notice that someone who uses Ancestris is close to you. Do not hesitate to register on the Location Map of Ancestris users.

The more we will be, the more interesting it will be. Send a mail to Frédéric with your latitude and longitude, your name, the name of your town, your operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac, OS/2, etc ...) and in the coming hours, you'll be on it..
